Festivals of Music - Professionalism

Staff Attire

Each staff member must be dressed appropriately.   We want all visiting directors to be able to spot your student and adult workers easily, and to feel they are attending a professional program.   Your students should not blend in with those from the participating schools.  Here are some suggestions:

Staff Attitude

Please remember that the customer is always right, but don’t let them take advantage of your staff.   Each staff member must be able to answer any questions posed by the participating directors, or find the answer immediately.

Always try to be as accommodating as possible.

Sometimes the directors are very tense and could be discourteous to your staff.   We shouldn’t take this personally, but see how we can assist them in making them more comfortable.

Staff Suggestions

Every staff member must be wearing a watch.

Make sure every helper has a copy of the FINAL SCHEDULE (sent to you in the UPS Overnight box.)   Also make sure they are informed of any updates or changes.

Walkie-Talkies are a great help in letting people know when groups arrive, are leaving the stage, etc.

Make sure your guides know what to do if a group arrives early or late.
